Last October our office staff drove down to Fresno to volunteer at a CDA (California Dental Association) Cares event. This event provides free dental services to the community, helping out almost 2,000 patients each time! Patients travel from all around the state to receive extractions, fillings, dentures, cleanings and other procedures at no cost. Helping those in need is what Dr. Badwalz is all about. He motivates the staff to go and volunteer at these events, allowing us the chance to give back to the community as well as bond. Dr. Badwalz was the first one there, waking up at 3:00am to make the drive, get registered, and then see his first patient at 6:15am.
What is CDA?
CDA Cares is a bi-annual event held in California. It was established in 2001. To date CDA Cares has helped over 634,000 patients with their oral health. At the most recent CDA Cares event, a total of 2,099 patients received treatment.
Dental offices around California volunteer in order to provide free dental care to help underprivileged Californians. Dr. Badwalz has volunteered at these events since 2010.
Want to give back to CDA?
There are many ways to do so such as a simple donation, volunteering at the next event, or using AmazonSmile when shopping on Amazon which will donate 0.5% to the CDA Foundation.
CDA Cares will be hosting its next event on April 22-23 in San Mateo. Make sure to spread the word to anyone who would like to volunteer and/or who is in need of treatment.
